World: Barley production, consumption, stocks forecast to remain unchanged in 2020/21

IGC’s world S&D balance of November 26 forecasts the world barley production in 2020/21 at 156 mln tonnes, the same as in 2019/20.

Consumption and trade are seen unchanged from the previous year too, at 152 and 27 mln tonnes, respectively.

Ending stocks are forecast higher, at 32 mln tonnes vs. 28 mln in 2019/20.

Barley stocks of major exporters are also seen up, at 20 mln tonnes vs. 17 mln last season, the analysts said.
