Russia: Beer production and sales increase in H1 2019
Russia’s production of beer and beer-like drinks amounted to 39 mln hl in the first half of this year, 1% more than over the respective period in 2018, TASS reported on August 22.
Beer volume was up 0.5% to 35.05 mln hl, whereas the output of beer-like drinks increased by 5.8% over the reporting period to 3.95 mln hl, the Union of Russian Brewers said.
Beer and beer cocktails sales in January-June totalled 34.4 mln hl, or 1.8% more than in the first half of last year. Sales of beer-like drinks dropped by 0.3% and those of beer increased by 2.1% to 30.077 mln hl.
According to experts, the share of draught beer continued to increase in Russia during the first six months of the current year.
