Russia & Ukraine: Statistics on plantings of barley

According to specialists reposts, by April 25 Ukraine had planted 3.2 million ha of spring barley, 26 % less than a year ago. Planting progress is slow in the West and North of the country.

The same is true for a large part of the Russian Black Soil lands. Both countries estimate that their barley acreage will be larger than last year at the end of their spring planting period. Total acreage estimates are not reliable yet.
