Slovak Republic: Beer production under the edge of 4 Million hectolitres
The Slovakian beer production felt under the edge of 4 Million hectolitres in 2005, reaching for the first time the volume 3.962 Million hectolitres , which is a drop of 6% as compared to 2004.
The raise of excise duties in 2003 would have been the principal reason for this decrease. The structure of the production would have passed mainly to a beer of lower quality and two breweries had to close.
