USA: City Brewing negotiates the buyout of Coors’ Memphis plant
City Brewing, the former Heileman brewery in La Crosse, is in talks to buy Coors’ Memphis plant. “We think the Memphis facility has great employees and a great facility,” City prexy Randy Smith told Memphis Commercial Appeal.
City brewing is doing its due diligence, needs to learn more about plant, work out deal with union, etc, Randy added. If deal goes thru, City Brewing would continue to brew some Coors products at facility, as well as bring in additional biz, it anticipates. Currently, most of City’s contract volume in alternatives and energy drinks.
