Kazakhstan: In 2005 the country harvested 1.7 million metric tonnes of barley
In 2005 Kazakhstan harvested 1.7 million metric tonnes of barley and 12.9 million metric tonnes of wheat, according to country’s statistics.
Agra Europe with reference to Kazakh agriculture ministry reports that Kazakhstan's grain acreage for the 2006 harvest is estimated to be almost unchanged on year at 14.5 mln ha. 2006 grain production is forecast to rise by 10% to 17.4 (last year: 15.8) mln t.
