EU: Malt exports in July-August this year fail to reach last year’s volume
EU malt exports in July 1 – August 26 were 380,000 tonnes vs. 409,000 tonnes (grain equivalent) a year ago, H. M. Gauger GmbH reported earlier this month.
Apart from the traditional malt destinations, also „third country“ UK has received 21,000 tonnes of EU malt, it is reported.
Malt prices are purely nominal, as the cost of energy and transport is not only sky-high, but also bound to rise further in the coming months.
