Japan: Three of four major breweries see sales increase in May

Three of four major Japanese brewers saw beer and quasi-beer sales grow from a year before in May, data from the companies showed on June 10, JiJi Press reported.

Sales rose by 27 pct in value at Asahi Breweries Ltd. By volume, sales were up by 14 pct at Suntory Beer Ltd. and by 8 pct at Sapporo Breweries Ltd., while Kirin Brewery Co. logged a slight sales drop.
