Canada: Price indication for export malting barley remains at very high theoretical level
The price indication for Canadian export malting barley remains at a very high theoretical level (around USD460/tonne)j as the market has settled into import parity pricing with world barley moving into North America, RMI Analytics reported this week.
Feed barley prices are strong, despite the large volume of US corn being imported. Higher corn futures are increasing the delivered price economics and traders are aggressively selling corn into feedlots, indicating a good supply of corn is available. High corn imports should put pressure on feed barley prices but until that occurs, the fight for barley stocks is expected to be an intense one.
