Barley news Canada: Barley export prices unchanged from last month

In nominal terms, barley export prices in Canada are unchanged from last month but this remains a theoretical exercise with prices well above other barley regions, RMI Analytics reported earlier in December.

Canadian feed barley prices remain well above imported corn levels, which in normal circumstances would further ration barley usage as feeders shift to corn. A bit worrisome is continued feeding of feed barley despite cheaper alternative (corn) and this should be a concern for maltsters, who are competing feverishly for every tonne of barley they can obtain. New crop harvest is not until September 2022, a lot of time away.
