Barley news Canada: Barley prices high and remain highly theoretical due to lack of forthcoming offers

The price indication for Canadian malting barley FOB Vancouver is up to USD435/tonne and remains highly theoretical given no offers are forthcoming due to a lack of supply, RMI Analytics reported earlier in November.

Export feed barley is higher, and in a wider scope prices for oats and rye are also very high and these grains will compete with barley for 2022 area as well.

Feed barley prices in southern Alberta remain strong at CAD420/tonne and higher US corn replacement cost is increasing local prices.

Logistics will be the only limiting factor to corn imports as supply chain challenges and higher fuel prices are constraining the ability to ramp up corn imports.
