Australia: Barley exports in December – March total 3.748 mln tonnes
Australia’s barley exports in December 2020 – March 2021 were 131 thousand tonnes of malting barley to Vietnam, Mexico and Japan, and 3.617 mln tonnes of feed barley, of which 1.7 mln tonnes to Saudi Arabia, 600 thousand to Japan and 880 thousand tonnes to South East Asia, H. M. Gauger GmbH analysts said in their June report.
In May export markets were inactive, local sources said.
Climatic conditions had been perfect for new crop plantings in Western Australia and New South Wales; South Australia and Victoria recorded some showers, but remain too dry time being.
Altogether crop prospects are positive, production estimates range from 10.5 to 12 mln tonnes, another very large crop.
