USA, IL: Noon Whistle Brewing to open production facility in Naperville by March 2020

Lombard’s Noon Whistle Brewing is planning to open a production facility and tasting room in Naperville in 2020, the Chicago Tribune reported on September 17.

Noon Whistle’s new 30,000-square-foot location at 1748 W. Jefferson Ave. will include a production facility and a 1,600-square-foot tasting room, said Mike Condon, one of the brewery owners.

The space is in a new building in a light industrial area of the city.

“With this particular location for us, the main purpose is to expand production capabilities,” Condon said.

Once open, the Naperville production facility will do a majority of the Noon Whistle’s brewing. The space will also include brewery offices. “It will kind of take us to a next step,” Condon said.

The tasting room will have a small patio and likely will only feature Noon Whistle beers and some ciders, he said.

“It’ll truly be a space you can come in and try the beer,” he said.

Noon Whistle is currently located at 800 Roosevelt Road in Lombard, and owners have had their sights set on Naperville as an additional location for a while, Condon said.

“We made the decision we wanted to stay in the suburbs. It’s what we know, and our three owners live out here,” he said. “We had a few towns in mind, and Naperville was on top of the list.

“Naperville gets behind and supports their businesses, and we like that,” Condon said.

While it took a little longer than expected to find a space in Naperville and get agreements set, the brewery is on the cusp of securing building permits to start work on the new space.

“In the upcoming weeks, everything will start to get rolling,” Condon said.

The goal is to open in March 2020, he said.

“For us too, as quickly as we can get it open we will. It’s important for us to get production numbers increased. We’re fighting to meet demand in the market,” he said.

They’re also planning to expand the tasting room in Lombard and to add a small banquet space.

“Once Naperville is open, Lombard will still produce beer but it will be more limited,” Condon said. “(Lombard) is going to be kind of a little funky brewery with barrel aging and sours.”

Noon Whistle currently has about 20 employees at its Lombard location, and that will likely triple by the end of 2020 with the expansions, Condon said.

Naperville’s Solemn Oath Brewery and 2 Fools Cidery are in a similar light-industrial site near Ogden and Quincy avenues, not far from Noon Whistle’s location.
