Brewing news USA, PA: Silver Spring Township’s Harty Brewing Co. temporarily closed

A West Shore brewer has closed, PennLive.com reported on September 10.

Harty Brewing Co. owners Michael Harty and Lauren Ishaq took to Facebook on Sept. 7 to share the news the brewery in Silver Spring Township is temporarily closed.

In the post they said the shutdown is due to unforeseen legal issues and are working diligently to resolve those issues.

The couple opened the nano brewery and 30-seat taproom in 2016 at 146 Walden Way in the community developed by Charter Homes & Neighborhoods. It's in the same complex as Sophia's at Walden restaurant.

When contacted by PennLive, the couple said they could not comment about the legal issues at this time. In the post, they apologized and thanked customers and indicated they will let everyone know when business resumes.

“We want to apologize for an inconvenience or letdown,” they wrote.

In 2017, Harty announced plans to open a satellite location in Camp Hill but those plans fell through.
