World: Beer sales helped by warm summer and football championship last year
Beer sales have been helped much by a warm summer in the northern hemisphere and the football world championship, H. M. Gauger GmbH said in their latest report published earlier in March.
World’s leading brewers managed to increase sales last year: AB InBev reported a plus of 0.3% in spite of heavy losses in the U.S., Heineken plus 4.2%, Carlsberg plus 2.8%. Brewers stress the success of premium and alcohol-free beer.
Country reports 2018 are: Brazil saw its beer sales reach 135.5 mln hl (134 mln hl in 2017), China 381.22 mln hl (2017 correct figure unavailable), Russia 77.5 mln hl (plus 2.4% yoy), Ukraine 18 mln hl (plus 1.3%), Italy 6.5 mln hl (plus 1.7%).
