USA, MD: Baltimore’s Full Tilt Brewing to open its own brewing facility

After years of contract brewing, Baltimore’s Full Tilt Brewing plans to open its own brewery and taproom in the city’s Govans neighborhood this fall, the Baltimore Sun reported.

Founded by Dam Baumiller and Nick Fertig, two cousins from Baltimore, Full Tilt will move its operations to 5604 York Road as a part of the B-More Kitchen and Accelerator Space project, according to a news release. Full Tilt plans to open the brewery — which will include a taproom, event space and an outdoor patio — in the fall, the release said.

Known for beers like Hops the Cat India pale ale and Fleet St. Raspberry Wheat, Full Tilt currently contract brews at Peabody Heights Brewery in Abell.

The brewery will not have a kitchen, but will instead partner with the food vendors that are a part of the B-More Kitchen and Accelerator Space.

The taproom, which will have bar and table seating, will accommodate about 110 guests, the release said, and will include an area for shuffleboard and arcade games. They plan to host local musicians as well, according to the release. The brewery will feature a wheelchair-accessible ramp.

Having their own space will allow the brand to brew styles they haven’t produced in a while, including Patterson Pumpkin and Berger Cookie Chocolate Stout, the release said. Patrons will be able to buy crowlers and six-packs of cans to go, too.

In other local beer news, Pub Dog — the pizza-serving brewpub with locations in Federal Hill and Columbia — now has regular weekend hours for its taproom inside its Westminster brewery.

Previously, visitors could stop by for a weekend tour, or could fill a growler during the day while the staff brewed. As of last Friday, Pub Dog’s taproom (located at 1203 New Windsor Road) is now open 4-8 p.m. Fridays and noon-7 p.m. Sundays, Drew Walston, director of operations for Pub Dog, said in an email. He expects to expand those hours this summer to include Thursday and Sunday.
