Brewing news Canada, BC: Bad Dog Brewing opens its doors in Sooke

Bring Your Porter to the Slaughter reports that the community of Sooke on the southern shore of Vancouver Island is now home to three breweries, as the previously open Sooke Oceanside Brewery and Sooke Brewing have been joined by Bad Dog Brewing.

Bad Dog opened on December 5th, and currently has two beers available – Honey Blonde Ale (5% abv) and 642 Session Ale (4.5% abv). Two other brands – Old Red Ale (5% abv) and Tire Biter IPA (6% abv) – are listed on the brewery website, and will presumably be available soon.

Bad Dog Brewing is located at 7861 Tugwell Road in Sooke, and is open for sales of cans and merchandise from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM every day except Monday. The brewery doesn’t feature a taproom, but small samples are available to taste. Cans are in stock at Cook St. Liquor in Victoria.
