Brewing news USA, GA: Copper Creek Brewing Co closing its doors

Copper Creek Brewing Co., downtown Athens' only microbrewery, is closing its doors, the Red and Black reported on November 14.

Miranda Ruddle, the bartender at Copper Creek Brewing Co. said the business will be closing its door on Saturday, the day of the Georgia vs. Kentucky home football game.

"Nov. 18, the Kentucky game day will be our last day," Ruddle said, who has worked there for the last three years.

Ruddle said the she didn't know the reason Copper Creek was closing but that she was sad about it.

"I'm sad, I've been here for three years. I love this place, it's my home and I'm really sad about it," Ruddle said.

Ruddle hopes people show up to their last day.

"We kinda just announced that we will be closing on game day, so hopefully everybody will come out and support our last day," she said.
