EU: Germany increases both barley and wheat malt output in July/Oct 2016
Germany produced a total of 628,000 tonnes of barley malt in July/Oct 2016 versus 613,000 tonnes in the same period in 2015, H. M. Gauger GmbH reported.
The nation’s wheat malt production over the reporting period amounted to 54,000 tonnes versus 51,000 tonnes in 2015.
U.K. barley usage in July/December 2016 was 911 thousand tonnes, + 1.1% y/y, Defra said.
France barley usage forecast for the new crop year is 1.750 mln tonnes, plus 4.5% y/y.
